When “Positivity” starts to Echo!

I realize that any reference to practicing  ”Positive” self-talk, may start to sound like a brocken melody, in particular when talking to people who practically call themselves “genetically pre-disposed to seeing the empty half of the cup”.

The thing is, I happen to agree….

Positive self talk/affirmations/etc… will only confirm to nay-sayers, what they already know… the negative current (the no inside them, the negative belief or whatever we may call it)… is too strong to be changed by ”mechanically” repeating daily positive affirmations.

Ironically, these two guys in the video below demonstrate this perfectly….

When the stream in our subconscious mind is flowing in the opposite direction to where we would like to go (a common one is, I will never succeed), we have two choices:

1. To strengthen the positive current “I will succeed” (demonstrated by the first man who was able to overcome the negative current by using time-concentrated positive energy). OR

2. If negativity is too strong (basically we do not have enough energy to overcome it), we will need to identify the negative current, get off it, and allow the positive current to carry us up smoothly and with no excessive effort needed. Sounds logical?

So why don’t we just do this? Because the negative belief (I can never succeed) is limiting our perspective and causing us to make certain choices, and then we are too busy dealing with the results of these choices  (in this example it is trying to overcome failure) to realize we actually do have alternative options.

To get of this negative track, we need to sometimes allow ourselves to ”stay with our current emotions in the now” … along with the fears and disappointment that come with letting go ”notice again the body language of the second man, while he is dropping down”, if we do this without automatically numbing our emotions in defense against pain*  we will reach what we percieved earlier as the scary ”low point”, however, choices now will appear completely different if only we allow ourselves to look around…

This is true Fatin because we all start out believing that we are unique in our suffering. Allowing ourselves a different perspective, even if through the eyes of others can at least allow us to include other aspects of the picture that we weren’t able to see initially… however it may completely transform the meaning when included…
(happy to know you were here though ;) , lots of love)

All makes sense, however, everyone would tend to think his or her case is different!
